Most gut protocols fail because they’re only looking at one piece of the puzzle

Maybe you’ve experimented with different diets, antimicrobials, supplements or gut protocols from the internet, hoping the next one might finally be the one that fixes the problem.

My job is to figure out what’s actually driving your symptoms and help you resolve them.

Tired of being told your tests are normal?

My Brain-Body-Biome Method™️ is for you if:

you’ve been diagnosed with IBS, SIBO or Functional Dyspepsia

you’re dealing with digestive symptoms such as bloating, reflux, abdominal pain, excess gas, histamine intolerance, food sensitivities, constipation or diarrhoea

you’re experiencing seemingly unrelated symptoms such as fatigue, skin problems, itching, painful periods, burning mouth, dry eyes, brain fog or anxiety

you’ve tried multiple diets, antimicrobials, supplements or protocols without lasting improvement

“Working with Lucy is absolutely one of the best investments I’ve ever made! I can go out with my friends and choose whatever I want off the menu – a far cry from the days where I was spending all my free time at home cooking rice and boiled veg to take out with me in tupperware!” – Claire

I’ve spent 10 years understanding why gut symptoms can be so persistent, and why so many protocols fail for so many people.

Most approaches focus on just one piece of the puzzle, but digestive symptoms are almost always influenced by several systems interacting with each other.

That’s why I developed the Brain-Body-Biome Method™, which looks at the three key areas that influence gut health.

It’s the same approach I used to heal my own gut – and one I’ve now seen transform the health of my clients.

Brain

The digestive system is closely connected to the nervous system.

Stress and nervous system dysregulation can influence digestion, gut motility and how strongly symptoms are experienced, keeping gut symptoms ‘switched on’ even when physical drivers are addressed.

Until the nervous system feels safe, many gut interventions simply don’t work as effectively.

Body

Digestive symptoms can also be influenced by how well the digestive system is functioning.

Stomach acid, digestive enzymes, bile flow, gut motility, inflammation, hormones and liver function all influence how food is broken down and moved through the gut.

When these processes aren’t working as they should, symptoms like bloating, reflux, pain and food sensitivities can develop. Supporting them helps restore digestive capacity and resilience.

Biome

Once the brain and body are better supported, we can turn to the microbiome.

When microbial diversity is reduced or imbalances develop (like SIBO), digestive symptoms often worsen.

Addressing the brain and body first makes microbiome work more effective and easier for the gut to tolerate.

This stage focuses on restoring balance and supporting a healthy gut ecosystem.

Addressing these three systems together helps resolve unpredictable symptoms without relying on restrictive diets or repeated antimicrobials.

Not sure which programme is right for you?

  • I’d worked with 3 other practitioners before Lucy and not made any real progress, but her approach felt like I could finally see light at the end of the tunnel. It was totally different to anything I’d tried before and focused on restoring gut function rather than just managing symptoms. I can now eat onions again and I honestly never thought that would be possible!
    – Sandra
  • FODMAP had worked so well for me initially, but after a few months my symptoms came back and then kept getting worse. I tried to reintroduce foods but every time I did my symptoms deteriorated substantially. Lucy helped me see how much my fear surrounding foods was affecting my symptoms, supported my gut function and helped me reintroduce all the foods I’d been avoiding. We’ve just finished the final part of the programme working on my gut microbiome and I honestly feel the best I have for 20 years.
    – Caitlyn
  • Lucy’s explanations were so clear and easy to follow. It made a complicated problem feel manageable. Having sessions every 2 weeks meant I always felt supported, and I working through things one step at a time stopped me feeling too overwhelmed. I finally feel like I’ve cracked SIBO!!

What to expect when working with me

1

Gut Support Call

We start with a short call to talk through your symptoms and health history. This helps us understand how we could best work together, which programme might suit you, and what your first steps could look like.

2

Initial Consult

We spend 90 minutes taking a look at your symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and diet. The aim is to understand what’s driving your symptoms and put your initial nervous system, nutrition and supplement strategy in place.

3

Functional Testing

Sometimes we need more information before deciding on next steps. This may involve functional blood or stool testing, or trial kits that let us observe how your gut responds to targeted strategies before committing to longer protocols.

4

Your Brain-Body-Biome Plan

Based on your root causes, we use the Brain-Body-Biome approach to create a personalised plan. This includes nutrition strategies, targeted supplements and practical steps to support the nervous system, digestive system and the microbiome.

5

Ongoing Support

Throughout the programme we review your progress in regular follow-up sessions and adjust the plan as needed. You’ll also have private message support between sessions, so if questions come up you’re not left searching for answers on your own.

Ready to finally understand what’s driving your symptoms?

Questions you might have

No. This approach is designed to complement medical care rather than replace it. If you are currently working with a GP or specialist, I will work alongside their recommendations.

No. Some clients come to me with diagnoses such as IBS, SIBO or Functional Dyspepsia – labels often used when the underlying cause of symptoms isn’t fully clear – while others simply have ongoing digestive symptoms without a diagnosis.

Either way, we work together to understand what is driving your symptoms and support your gut back to health.

Depending on your symptoms and history, we may consider functional testing such as comprehensive blood testing or stool testing.

Blood testing can help assess areas that influence gut health, such as nutrient status, iron levels, thyroid function and inflammation markers, while stool testing provides information about digestive function and the gut microbiome.

Testing is not always necessary and we decide together whether it would be helpful in your situation.

I don’t routinely use SIBO breath testing, as the results can be inaccurate and it rarely changes the treatment approach.

Functional testing is not included in the programme fees, as any testing required varies between individuals. If testing would be helpful in your case, we will discuss the options and costs before proceeding.

Everyone’s gut is different, and with prokinetics and probiotics it can be difficult to predict what will work best without trialling a few options.

The trial kits allow us to test different supplements before committing to full products or adding them to your treatment plan.

The Gut Motility Support Trial Kit includes six different prokinetic options, and the Gut Microbiome Support Trial Kit includes six different probiotic options. Both can be tailored to your individual needs.

The trial kits are included in the Brain-Body-Biome programme and are available as optional add-ons for the Gut Reset programme.

I try to do the opposite. Occasionally short-term dietary adjustments may be helpful (and of course foods you are allergic to, or gluten in the case of Coeliac disease, still need to be avoided), but the aim is to support your gut and nervous system so that you can gradually expand your diet, rather than continually removing foods.

This varies from person to person depending on the root causes involved and the current state of your nervous system, which I often find to be the biggest factor affecting the speed of progress. Some people notice improvements within a few weeks, while others need longer support, particularly if symptoms have been present for a long time.

No. This approach is designed to complement medical care rather than replace it. If you are currently working with a GP or specialist, I will work alongside their recommendations.

Yes, all consultations are online and conducted in GMT/BST (UK time).
